About Two Faces of Jane
Two Faces of Jane, an Ohio nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, was established in early 2022 to help parents and caretakers as they traverse the long and difficult journey of loving, caring for, and raising a child with a serious mental illness or brain disorder.

Raising a child with mental illness takes a great toll on the parents, many of which are single parents. The journey to adulthood with a mentally ill child is devastating emotionally, financially, spiritually, and physically, and in the case of major mental illness, that journey of parent and child continues for the rest of the child’s life. There are some services for families out there, but little help for parent caregivers. That's why Two Faces of Jane was founded: to fill in the gap in services for parent caregivers.
Here’s how we help:
-
Because parents are rarely prepared for the challenges that chronic mental illness brings into their lives, we focus on parent education through our website and educational seminars, building resilience through HeartMath technology, and providing family peer support and support groups so that they know they are not alone.
-
To create a better future for our children, we are working in the schools to help students build resilience and learn self-regulation for better student mental health outcomes through HeartMath, as well as bringing HeartMath to teachers to build resilience and reduce stress.
-
Because stigma is the root cause of parents’ isolation, public advocacy through theatre and public speaking are areas of focus.
-
Our programs include culturally sensitive service delivery. Although we are all the same at our cores, we understand that is is important to receive services through the lens of cultural competence.
